0Knowledge is only of value when shared and applied, and since the spirit of the MAD DAWN Challenge project is that of sharing and helping, we have made the newest addition to our impact-oriented online presence.
I have created a Pinterest profile with several boards aimed at benefiting you. Besides pinning the latest and greatest, you can also check material that I found of great interest (currently you can see the short list of books, but the boards will be later extended to include videos worth watching, TED talks you can’t miss, online articles, movies – any material of great educational value in my own eyes) on designated boards. Of course, if you have a Pinterest profile, you are welcome to follow me there . Originally, I planned to share that content here on the blog, but it could create More >
Latin Charity Gala in Leiden, Netherlands!
3Fortune had it that I happen to arrive to the Netherlands the day before the Latin Charity Gala in Leiden! I am not sure I will be at the workshops, but I will be at the party. YOU can be there too! Here is the info:
The goal of the gala is to support Kika. Kika is an organization involved in research into childhood cancers. The cure rate had long stagnated at around 70%, while the conviction was and is that with the many more available gene data items, a breakthrough was possible and the cure rate can be raised. In 2010, the cure rate of childhood cancer increased to 75%. Quality of treatment is also to be improved. The current chemotherapy is so heavy and aggressive that children treated today can get some organ defects later in life and other complications.
